Dan Gilbert "Stumbling on Happiness" from TED

This is one of the most compelling and powerful discoveries of Western science in regard to understanding happiness with large implications for how we can adjust our attitudes towards the big and small happenings in our lives and embrace that which we have in our lives.  Please watch and enjoy this 21 min video from TED conference "Ideas Worth Spreading", he is really entertaining as well.  -Gavin

Harvard psychologist Dan Gilbert says our beliefs about what will make us happy are often wrong -- a premise he supports with intriguing research, and explains in his accessible and unexpectedly funny book, Stumbling on Happiness.  Dan Gilbert challenges the idea that we’ll be miserable if we don’t get what we want. Our "psychological immune system" lets us feel truly happy even when things don’t go as planned.
